Dungeon Gacha Life Chapter 13

Chapter 13: A Total of 100 Pulls — Onward to the Pity Cap

It had been two weeks since I unlocked the Floor 6 teleportation magic circle.

My main hunting ground now is Floor 7 which one floor deeper. The new monster that appeared starting on Floor 6, the "Wolf", showed up and attacks in packs on Floor 7.

It is a troublesome opponent that toys with beginners with its quick movements, but for someone like me with an excessive safety margin, it was nothing more than an efficient box of experience points. Wolves gave pretty good experience and also the fact that the gap between ten-pulls had shrunk to two days was a major change.

As a result of continuing to hunt while strictly adhering to my three day rest week, the total number of gacha pulls I'd done had reached 90.

My Status right after finishing my ninth ten-pull was as follows.

Between the 6th and 9th ten-pulls, I'd gotten 18 "stat orbs." Thanks to that, even at Lv1, I could now achieve  stats roughly close to the average for Lv12.

Next, Skills.

I raised Swordsmanship from Lv3 to Lv5. I also raised Slash from Lv1 all the way to 5.

On top of that, I picked up a new Skill, "Herculean Strength," and raised it to Lv5.

Herculean Strength was exactly what it sounded like — a Skill that made you physically stronger and added a bonus to physical attack power.

I tried it out on my fridge, and I could lifted it clean off the ground with one hand. I'm steadily quitting being human.

The Explorer I'd seen doing the same thing in a video was a Lv 40 C-Rank, so that just goes to show how ridiculous Herculean Strength Lv5 really is. It was a well spent 15 SP.

Also out of the four ten-pulls, I'd gotten five SRs.

SSR? Never heard of her.

Out of nine ten-pulls so far, I had only beaten the guaranteed minimum once. Isn't that some serious bad luck?

Here's the breakdown.

・A Skill Orb for Charm Resistance

・A Skill Orb for Spearmanship

・Ring of Substitution (nullifies an instant-death spell once)

・Gale Sandals (Major bonus to AGI)

・Fairy Massage Chair

That was all of them.

Of the two Skill Orbs, I gratefully used the "Charm Resistance" orb. "Spearmanship" had no use for me right now, so I kept it in storage. Figured I'd put it up for auction someday.

On top of that, I'd gotten two pieces of equipment this time. That said, they weren't the kind of thing you could get on the floor I was currently on, so they were shelved for now. I could only hope they'd see the light of day eventually.

The last one?

Lapis uses it every single night. Damn it.

* * *

That day too, I went around beating up Wolves and by 4 pm, I was back at the counter.

I handed over today's drops to Shimotsuki-san and waited a bit. As usual, Lapis was off chatting with the other Explorers and receptionists she'd gotten friendly with. I hoped she'd keep it up and boost my reputation a little

"Sorry to keep you waiting. Quite the haul again today."

With a slightly exasperated look, Shimotsuki-san came back with the details in hand. The receipt I got read 18,000 yen. Nice.

"3,000 yen an hour, huh. This is really starting to feel like I'm actually being an Explorer."

"It's rare for someone to bring in that much solo on Floor 7 though. This is about the point where most people started forming parties."

A single Wolf was already stronger than a Goblin, and in packs, they got even more troublesome. I recalled that online sources also recommended forming a party starting from Floor 7.

Well, I had a cheat Skill, so that didn't really apply to me. And precisely because of that, I could only explore solo too.

In fact, I'd actually been dialing back my kill speed a bit on the Wolves too.

If I hunted at full power, I'd probably pull in close to double this amount. But go that far, and people would surely start suspecting there was some secret behind the fake Unique Skill, "Support Fairy".

At about this level, I could still get away with it.

A solo Explorer with a high enough Level to go deeper, but still overhunting on the shallow floors. Objectively speaking, that was probably how I looked from the outside.

For a stability-focused solo Explorer, this wasn't such an unusual stance. I think the camouflage was holding up.

"I'm not really looking to form a party, so I'll just keep going at my own pace like this."

When I answered like that, she gave me a look like, "You're such a hopeless case."

Getting that kind of look from an older woman makes you feel a little lucky, you know?

A cool beauty's troubled expression. Not bad at all.

Three days later, with a day off in between.

On Floor 7 of the Hachioji Dungeon, Lapis and I couldn't hide our excitement.

"Finally... the day has finally come, Touya-san!"

Beside me, flapping her wings furiously, Lapis shouted with her face flushed. She clenched both fists with a determined little huff, looking fired up.

Just for today, I couldn't even bring myself to tease her about it, and I couldn't quite keep the corner of my mouth from curling up either.

"Yeah, finally. The day's finally here."

"...You've got an even more evil look on your face than usual, you know?"

Lapis suddenly lost her enthusiasm and said something like that.

Ha ha ha. You'll remember this later, huh?

"—Fwoaah!? I just got the worst chill!?"

Setting the silly creature aside, I gazed at the Status I'd called up.

There, gleaming brilliantly, was the number: Lv 11.

That's right — the moment to pull the ten-pull gacha had arrived.

My total gacha pulls so far stood at 90. And with this ten-pull, I'd finally hit 100.

The "pity cap" system built into this Unique Skill, "Gacha." It was finally about to make its debut.

It couldn't really be helped that I was getting a little worked up over it.

To absolutely make sure no one saw me pulling the gacha, I'd already moved to an empty corner of the map. I'd already cleared out any Wolves in the area ahead of time too.

Now preparations were complete. Everything was set for me to pull the ten-pull whenever I wanted.

"Let's go over it again. Pulling this ten-pull brings my total gacha count to 100. On top of the usual ten-pull prizes, I get to pick whatever I want out of 'three SSRs.'"

Lapis nodded deeply at my confirmation.

"That's exactly right. No more crying over those pitifully low drop rates like before — you get to hold the highest rarity, an SSR, in your hands!"

"Yeah, this really has been a stingy gacha! Even SR only came up ten times out of ninety pulls!? That's basically just the guaranteed minimum, damn it!!"

"Ugh... um, could you go a little easier on it..."

At my honest feelings slipping out, the fairy of Gacha pressed a hand to her chest, looking pained.

Come to think of it, aren't you on the operator's side?

"You made it sound like I'm some kind of spy!?"

Lapis reeled, shocked.

"No, I mean, you were literally born from the Skill, so you're pretty much exactly that."

"T-true enough..."

At my point, Lapis's face went blank in that "space cat" memo kind of way.

With the noisy one finally quiet, I turned back to face the Status board.

Alright, let's go hit that pity cap.

I tapped the Unique Skill, "Gacha." Then I tapped "Ten-Pull Gacha" too.

――――――――――――――――――

[Perform Ten-Pull Gacha]

[Are you sure?]

 [Yes] [No]

――――――――――――――――――

With a finger trembling just slightly, I tapped "Yes."
